In Modern English
He was a native of Amasya. He was of the Pehlivanlı tribe of Kurds living in the village of Olus, southwest of Amasya, the son of es-Seyyid Ebûbekir Ağa, a former mütesellim of Amasya, and the brother of es-Seyyid Mustafa Bey. While a zeamet holder in Amasya he gained renown by marrying Hanife Hanım, daughter of Murâd Beyzâde el-Hâc Mustafa Ağa, one of the eşraf.
Thereby he opposed Emîr Hacı Abdullatîf Çelebi, baş-a'yân of Amasya, and in Safar 1119 [1707] became alaybeyi of Amasya. In 1122 [1710-11] he went to war and was dismissed on his return. In Rabiulevvel 1126 [1714] he became alaybeyi of Amasya for the second time, and in 1127 [1715] he went to the Morea war as Türkmen ağası.
Thanks to the services he showed in this war, in 1128 [1715-16] he became warden of one of the Morea fortresses, and in Rabiulevvel 1129 [1716-17] he remained in guard duty as governor of Sivas with the rank of beylerbeyi of Rumelia. In Muharram 1130 [1717] he went to the Hejaz as beylerbeyi of Jeddah and Abyssinia.
Then he became beylerbeyi of Tripoli of Syria, Maraş, Aleppo, and in Rabiulevvel 1138 [1725] of Şehrizor, and then governor of Diyarbekir with the rank of vizier. In Muharram 1139 [1726] he became governor of Konya, in Sha'ban of Adana, and in 1140 [1727-28] again of Diyarbekir, where he stayed for quite a while.
In Sha'ban 1145 [1733] he became governor of Sidon, in Rabiulevvel 1146 [1733] of Konya for the second time, in 1147 [1734-35] of Tripoli of Syria, in Jumada al-Akhirah 1148 [1735] of Van, and in 1149 [1736-37], during the Iranian defeat, governor of Trabzon and warden of Yeni Kale (Kal'a-yı Cedîde). In 1150 [1737-38] he was dismissed and settled in Kefe, and it was seen in the Muhallefât Register that was kept that he died there at the beginning of 1151 [1738].
He was a brave, honorable, strong vizier; his praiseworthy services in Iran had been seen. His fortune faded with the martyrdom of Köprülüzâde Fâzıl Abdullah Pasha, who had served as serasker. His sons were es-Seyyid Mustafa Pasha and Ebûbekir Bey. His daughter Âmine Hanım, his son-in-law and treasurer Murâd Beyzâde Mustafa Ağa bin Mehmed Ağa, and his kethüda Uzun Ahmed Ağa were of Amasya.

The Rise of an Amasya Alaybeyi to the Vizierate
İbrâhim Pasha's rise shows one of the typical paths of the Amasya ayan, who came from the provinces and won renown on the battlefields: first zeamet holder in Amasya, then alaybeyi, then war assignments. His taking part in the Morea coincides with the Morea campaign of 1715; Nevşehirli Damad İbrahim Pasha was also on the same campaign as mevkûfatçı. Hüsameddin does not mention these two names together.
Köprülüzâde Abdullah Pasha served as serasker in the wars of 1730-32 and 1732-36 and was killed on 19 June 1735 at the Battle of Arpaçay in Nadir Shah's attack. Hüsameddin's calling him "Fâzıl Abdullah Pasha" is noteworthy: according to one source Abdullah Pasha was the second son of Grand Vizier Fâzıl Mustafa Pasha. İbrâhim Pasha's "fortune" faded after this martyrdom; in the chain of offices Hüsameddin lists, the last appointment is Trabzon and Yeni Kale.
The date of death in Kefe that Hüsameddin gives (beginning of 1151, 1738) and the list of offices could not be verified in another source. No information on the village of Olus or the Pehlivanlı tribe was found in any source outside the book either.
