Pervâne Bey and the Witnessing of the Waqf Deed
The "Pervâne Bey waqf deed" in the entry is the waqf deed belonging to İzzeddin Mehmed Pervâne, who bore the title Pervâne (chief vizier) in the last period of the Seljuks. Pervâne Bey served as chief vizier of Sultan Gıyaseddin Mesud II and after 1291-92 is mentioned as governor of Amasya; his death is given as 1300. The waqf he drew up for the Burmalı Minare Mosque in Amasya is dated 1299-1300 [699 AH]. The date 699 given by Hüsameddin agrees with this waqf deed.
At the end of such a waqf deed the testimonies of the judge, the müderris and the leading persons were written. The presence of İbrahim Ebû İshak's name there shows that he was regarded as a respected scholar in Amasya in his time.
No separate source was found in this research on the location and founding of the Mesûdiyye Madrasa in Amasya. Its name suggests that the madrasa was built in the name of a Seljuk sultan Mesud; this is an inference. No information was found in another source on his son İshak Çelebi's post as müderris and judge in Samsun.
