Amasyalıdır. Amasya’da Gürcü hânedânından Büyük Ali Bey demekle meşhûr Karslı Ali Bey’in mahdûmu olduğu münâsebetle “Gürcüzâde” dendi. Bevvâbân-ı Sultânî zümresine idhâl edilip Kuyucu Murâd Paşa’ya intisâb ederek sadâretinde kapıcılar kethüdâsı ve müşarün ileyhin irtihâlinde Gürcü Mehmed Paşa’nın hazinedârı olduğundan “Gürcü Hazinedâr” diye iştihâr etdi.
Gürcü Mehmed Paşa’nın sadâretinde kethüdâ-yı sadr-ı âlî olup Paşa’nın azlinde mîr-livâ olarak devr-i bilâd etdi. Bayram Paşa’nın sadâretinde Kars beylerbeyi, ba’dehû Sivas, Kastamonu, Mar’aş eyâletlerine sırasıyla vâlî olup 1056’da vefât etdi. Mahdûmları Ali, Mehmed, Mustafa Beyler de mîr-livâ olmuşlardı.
In Modern English
He was from Amasya. Because he was the son of Karslı Ali Bey, known in Amasya as Büyük Ali Bey, of the Georgian dynasty, he was called "Gürcüzâde." Taken into the body of the sultan's gatekeepers (kapıcı) and attached to Kuyucu Murâd Pasha, he became kapıcılar kethüdası under his grand vizierate; after the latter's death he became treasurer (hazinedar) of Gürcü Mehmed Pasha and so made his name as "Gürcü Hazinedâr."
Under the grand vizierate of Gürcü Mehmed Pasha he became kethüda of the grand vizier. When the Pasha was dismissed, he went round the country as a sanjak bey. Under the grand vizierate of Bayram Pasha he became beylerbey of Kars, then governor in turn of the provinces of Sivas, Kastamonu and Maraş, and died in 1056 [1646]. His sons Ali, Mehmed and Mustafa Beys had also become mîr-livâ (sanjak bey).

The Pashas He Served
Gürcü Mehmed Pasha (d. 1626), whom Hüsameddin mentions, was one of the Ottoman grand viziers; the sources also report that he was appointed governor of Egypt. Bayram Pasha, to whom İbrâhim Pasha later attached himself, served as grand vizier in 1637-1638 and is held to have been originally from Amasya. Thus the career of Gürcüzâde took shape in the service of two pashas with Amasya connections, Gürcü Mehmed and Bayram Pasha. The name of Kuyucu Murâd Pasha appears in the text only in connection with the kethüda post.
No information was found in another source about his father Karslı Ali Bey and the claim that he came from the Georgian dynasty. Whether the nisba "Karslı" derives from a post in the sanjak of Kars or from origin cannot be understood from the text.
