The Place of Amasyans in the Finance Administration
The career that Hüsameddin lists shows how influential bureaucrats from Amasya were in the finance administration at the beginning of the seventeenth century. Ömer Efendi of Amasya, the sultan's tutor, had a share in İbrâhim Pasha's rise. Ömer Efendi is reported to have been the tutor of Osman II and to have had a say in the administration. Hüseyin Efendi of Amasya, mentioned in the text as chief defterdar, is also from Amasya according to Hüsameddin. The beylerbeyship of Kastamonu shows that İbrâhim Pasha, after the defterdarship, moved to the head of a province.
The two İbrâhims must not be confused: the subject of this entry is Hacı Efendizâde İbrâhim Pasha; Nefîszâde İbrâhim Pasha in entry 115, on the other hand, is the calligrapher defterdar. Hüsameddin writes that Nefîszâde was middle defterdar during Hacı Efendizâde İbrâhim Pasha's defterdarship.
No information about Hacı Efendizâde İbrâhim Pasha was found in any source other than the finance records.
