Gümüşlüzâde and the Halvetî Order in Amasya
Although the Halvetî order is seen in Anatolia with a lodge opened at Niğde at the end of the thirteenth century, its spread in Amasya came in the first half of the fifteenth century through Pîr İlyâs. Pîr İlyâs carried on his activity in the Gümüşlüoğlu Lodge, the first Halvetî lodge of Amasya. The lodge stood on the empty ground east and south of the Gümüşlü Mosque, known among the people as "Taciye"; for more than two hundred years it was the home of the Gümüşlüzades. After Pîr İlyâs's death his place was taken by his deputy, son-in-law and cousin Gümüşlüzâde Pîr Abdurrahmân Çelebi. The sources say that he died in 903 [1497-98], is buried in the courtyard of the Çilehâne Mosque, and is called "Aşağı Pîrler Evliyası" among the people. Another source reports that the Yâkub Pasha Lodge, founded in 815 [1412] by Pazarlıoğlu Yâkub Pasha, Beylerbeyi of Ankara, and whose endowment deed was registered in February 1413, was built and endowed, attached to the Halvetî order, for Mufti Sheikh Gümüşlüzâde Abdurrahman Çelebi (d. 903), and says that the sheikhdom of the lodge passed after him to his son-in-law Pîr Abdurrahman Çelebi.
The Difference Between the Dates
According to this entry of Hüsameddin, İbrâhim Çelebi came to Amasya in 804 [1401-02], stayed in the circle of Gümüşlüzâde Pîr Abdurrahmân Çelebi and died after 831 [1427-28]. Gümüşlüzâde Abdurrahman Çelebi, by contrast, is written in the sources to have died in 903 [1497-98]. Between these two dates there is a gap of nearly seventy years. Because the sources give the family and son-in-law relations of the sheikhs differently from one another, it is possible that more than one Abdurrahman Çelebi is meant here, or that one of the dates belongs to another person; this is only a possibility, and no record explaining the difference was found in the sources read. Nothing about Hamîdeddin Abdülhamîd, Hacı Baba Ahmed or the name "Hamîdoğlu" of İbrâhim Çelebi could be verified outside Hüsameddin.
The Cross-Reference in the Last Paragraph
The last paragraph of the entry is a cross-reference. According to Hüsameddin's entry "İbrâhim Efendi, el-Hâc Evliyâ" in volume 6, this man was from Erzincan, the son of Abdurrahman Efendi, and was known as "Hacı Evliyâ Efendi"; he became müderris of the Halfet Gazi Madrasa and died in 1221 [1806-07]. The reference therefore points not to the same İbrâhim Çelebi described here, but to a separate scholar who bore the epithet Evliyâ and lived about four hundred years later.
