The Ahî Sa'deddin Tekke
The Sa'deddin Tekke, where İbrâhim Efendi's teacher Mehmed Efendi served as sheikh, stood in the inner city of Amasya, in today's Hatuniye quarter, near the Meydan Gate. It was built in 1467 (871) by Sadi Efendi, who also arranged its waqfs; this tekke, whose last sheikh was a Halvetî, was demolished in 1844 (1260). Since the Halvetî order was strong in Amasya, the city had many Halvetî tekkes, and İbrâhim Efendi's training in Amasya and his heading a tekke in Ladik can be regarded as a provincial example of this spread.
Family and Zaviye
The entry shows that the posts of sheikh and mütevelli of a zaviye passed within the same family for about a hundred years; the sheikhship and the mütevelliship were at times divided between two brothers. No other record was found of the Seyyid Hüseyin Efendi Tekke in Ladik.
