In Modern English
He was from Merzifon, the son of the sipahi Ali Ağa. He was one of the men of the former grand vizier Kara Mustafa Pasha; during Kara Mustafa Pasha's deputy governorship (kaymakamlık) he became mütevelli of the sultan's waqfs in Merzifon and voyvoda of Merzifon, then mütevelli of the Sultan Bayezid waqfs in Amasya and many times mütesellim (deputy governor) of Amasya. During Kara Mustafa Pasha's grand vizierate he became sanjak governor and then beylerbeyi of Maraş, and, moving through the small provinces, died in late 1099 [1688].

The Career of a Man of Kara Mustafa Pasha
İbrâhim Pasha's career is like that of many people who came out of Merzifon and rose under the patronage of Kara Mustafa Pasha. First comes the administration of the sultan's waqfs and the voyvodaship in Merzifon, then the mütevelliship of the Sultan Bayezid waqfs and the mütesellimship in Amasya, and later the sanjak governorship and the beylerbeyiship. Kara Mustafa Pasha was a sipahi's son born around 1634-35 in the village of Mirince near Merzifon; he became grand vizier in 1676. The complex he had built in Merzifon was completed in 1679. The duties related to waqf administration (evkâf mütevellisi, voyvoda of Merzifon) may be connected with this complex and its waqf structure; however, the entry does not specify which of the waqfs called "Sultaniye evkâfı" is meant.
Name and Period
Hüsameddin gives the date of death as the end of 1099; this year is close to the years in which Kara İbrâhim Pasha was overthrown and his men were pressed (see 6-132 and 6-137). The entry does not explain where the nickname "Sansâr" comes from; no record apart from Hüsameddin was found about İbrâhim Pasha himself.
