In Modern English
He was from İznik. He is famous as "Binbaşızâde". At the beginning of the month of Rebîülâhir 1024 [1615–16] he came as sanjak governor of Amasya. Seydî Beyzâde Mustafa Bey had applied to the court. As a result of the court's judgment the administration (tevliyet) was taken from Gonca Beyzâde Ahmed Bey, and Mustafa Bey became administrator of the waqf of Hızır and Mehmed Pashas for the second time.
In the month of Şa'bân, Mirliva Ali Bey went with Alaybeyi Mustafa Bey to inspect and review the sanjak of Amasya and to pursue some bandits who had appeared; the tax collector Gevüklü Kara Mehmed Ağa became mütesellim of Amasya.
In the month of Zilkade, since Abdülfettah Ağa, steward of Gürcü Mehmed Pasha, the grand vizier's deputy, and former mütesellim of Amasya, died, ten thousand akçe of his twenty-two-thousand-akçe timar in Amasya was given to his son Mehmed Ağa, who had been taken into the body of the çavuşes of the exalted court.
On the fifteenth of Muharrem 1025 [1616–17], Rus Hamza Ağa, administrator of the Hoca Sultân Tekke, was removed from the administration; the former administrator, the sheikh of the tekke Pîr Mehmed Efendi, again became administrator. On the twenty-third the administration of the sultanic waqfs was also given to Eyüb Ağa son of Abdurrahman Ağa of Amasya, one of the gatekeepers.
When Mirliva Ali Bey went to the Revan War on assignment with the Amasya troops, the kethüdâyeri Köse Mehmed Ağa became mütesellim of Amasya. Since Köse Mehmed Ağa was a harsh and very brave man, he let neither the ayan nor the bandits lift their eyes.
In the month of Zilhicce, upon the death of Horpeşteli Mustafa Efendi, imam of Sultan Ahmed I, Babazâde Evliyâ Mehmed Efendi of Amasya, Şeyhü'l-kurrâ (head of the Quran reciters), who had won fame in Istanbul for his beautiful voice and recitation, his learning and piety, became the sultan's imam.
At the beginning of Zilhicce, since the mufti of Amasya, Dursunzâde Mehmed Efendi, was sent to Tokat as professor of the Hâtuniye, Kadızâde Abdülkerim Efendi, one of the scholars of Amasya and professor of Yörgüç Pasha, became mufti of Amasya and professor of the Sultaniye.
On the first day of Muharrem 1026 [1617–18], Zâralızâde Ca'fer Efendi became kadı of Amasya; the Mehmed Pasha Madrasa was given to the former kadı Abdülvehhâb Efendi, who had completed his term. In Safer the sanjak of Amasya was given to Mehmed Bey, Bey of Bozok.

The Revan War and the Amasya Troops
The going of Mirliva Ali Bey to Revan with the Amasya troops in the entry is the campaign of 1616. Grand Vizier Öküz Mehmed Pasha crossed to Üsküdar with his army in April 1615, spent the winter in Aleppo, set out from there in April 1616, and, with his army grown through the participation of troops from Anatolia, Rumelia, Diyarbekir and Erzurum, reached Revan by way of Erzurum and Kars in September 1616. The siege, which lasted fifty-five days, produced no result for reasons such as the non-transport of equipment like heavy cannon and the deaths of the janissary ağa Muslu Ağa and Tekeli Mehmed Pasha, and the grand vizier was dismissed in November 1616. The going to the "Revan War" in Hüsameddin's brief account is the part of this long campaign that was reflected in Amasya; he gives no detail on its outcome in this entry.
Changes of Administration at the Hoca Sultân Tekke
Over these two entries the administration of the Hoca Sultân Tekke changes hands three times: Pîr Mehmed Efendi, Rus Hamza Ağa, Pîr Mehmed Efendi again. A study on the tekke writes only that in 1608 Pîr Mehmed Efendi was put in place of Rasul Efendi; the later changes were not found in any other source. For this reason this detail rests only on the records Hüsameddin relates and has not been tested against documents such as the Ahkâm Defterleri or court registers.
The Pace of Mufti and Kadı Appointments
In this short entry it is seen that the offices of mufti and kadı in Amasya changed hands several times within one year. The muftiship passes from Dursunzâde Mehmed Efendi to Kadızâde Abdülkerim Efendi, "professor of Yörgüç Pasha". The madrasa built together with the Yörgüç Pasha Mosque has not survived to the present; its mosque and tomb stand. The giving of the Mehmed Pasha Madrasa to the former kadı Abdülvehhâb Efendi suggests that it was common for those who left the kadılık to move to professorships; this is an inference, and no direct source was found. On Babazâde Evliyâ Mehmed Efendi no information was found in any source other than Hüsameddin.
