His grandfather Şeyh Şemseddîn Ahmed Çelebi was the son of Aksarayîzâde Mevlânâ Alâeddîn Ali, judge of Bursa; Alâeddîn Ali was the son of Mevlânâ Fahreddîn İlyâs, and İlyâs the son of Mevlânâ Şeyh Cemâleddîn İbrâhim el-Aksarayî. He was one of the notables of the Temenna quarter and one of the state's officials (ümenâ), and he died after 883 [1478-79]. He has a mosque and vineyards in the Temenna quarter.

These used to be called the "Hacı Enbiyâ mosque" and the "Hacı Enbiyâ vineyards". While Sultan Bayezid II was governor in Amasya, he was among his favorites. His sons Pîr Ahmed and Mehmed Çelebi were among the scholars. His children came to be called the "Hacı Enbiyâ sons".

The Aksarayî Family

Fahreddîn İlyâs and his father Cemâleddîn İbrâhim, who appear in the genealogy Hüsameddin gives, recall a family of scholars who lived in 14th-century Amasya. According to an article on Cemâleddin el-Aksarâyî (whose real name was Mehmed), after receiving his first education from his father this scholar went to Amasya and studied with Fahruddin İlyas Rûmî, son of his namesake and fellow townsman Cemâleddin İbrahim. Hacı Şadgeldi, who later rose to the emirate of Amasya, studied with the same teacher. When Şadgeldi became emir, he appointed Cemâleddin el-Aksarâyî to the judgeship of Amasya and the professorship of the Dâru'l-İlim, and when the chief military judge Pîr Nizâmeddin Muhammed Cürcânî died in 1366-67 he promoted him to that office. Aksarâyî then moved to Konya and finally returned to Aksaray, where he taught as a professor and died.

The father and son names mentioned in the article (Cemâleddin İbrahim and his son Fahruddin İlyas) are the same as those in Hüsameddin's genealogy. This sameness suggests that Enbiya Çelebi's family connects to the scholars of Amasya in Şadgeldi's time; but since the article does not cite Hüsameddin, this link is an inference and is not directly documented.

Sultan Bayezid II's Governorship of Amasya

Bayezid was appointed sanjak governor of Amasya in 1454, at the age of seven. In 1473 he took part in the Battle of Otlukbeli between his father the Conqueror and Uzun Hasan, and in 1481, on his father's death, he left Amasya to take the throne. The date after 883 [1478-79] that Hüsameddin gives for Enbiya Çelebi's death does not conflict with these years of governorship (1454-1481).

The Temenna Quarter

Temenna is named among the quarters of Amasya where Muslims and non-Muslims lived together in the first half of the 19th century. The Gümüşlüzade and Saray quarters belong to the same group in the same study. A building list includes a "Temenna Mescidi" dated 1562; whether it is the same building as the Hacı Enbiyâ Mosque is unclear. No information was found in other sources on the Hacı Enbiyâ mosque and vineyards.
