In Modern English
He was from Amasya, the son of es-Seyyid Mahmûd Çelebi bin es-Seyyid Hasan Çelebi bin es-Seyyid Haydar Efendi, of the Havzavî seyyids. After completing his education he received the authorization to give public lectures and taught in the Yâkub Pasha Mosque, then became müderris of Yâkub Pasha. During this time he benefited from the fine conversation of Mehmed Efendi, sheikh of the Çilehane, repented at his hands, entered the order and received the khalifate. In 1099 [1687-88], on the death of the said sheikh, he became sheikh of the Çilehane and preacher of the Yâkub Pasha Mosque and spent seventeen years in dhikr and tawhid, preaching and counsel; he passed to the hereafter on the twenty-third day of Zilhicce 1116 [April 1705].
He was a scholar, mature, a preacher, devout, God-fearing and faithful to the sharia. Since the administration of the Yâkub Pasha waqf was also given to him, his son es-Seyyid eş-Şeyh Mehmed Efendi became sheikh and mütevelli of the Çilehane. When he died in 1168 [1754-55], his son es-Seyyid eş-Şeyh Abdullah Efendi became sheikh and mütevelli; but in 1178 [1764-65] he handed the sheikhship over to his son-in-law, eş-Şeyh Hasan Sinânî Efendi of Çorum.

The Çilehane and the Yakup Pasha Tekke
The Çilehane Mosque is a Halvetî tekke, built in 1413 by Yakup Pasha, one of Çelebi Mehmed's emirs, close to the tomb of Pîr İlyâs. The building was damaged in the 1939 earthquake and repaired in 1964. The Halvetî order was among the most widespread orders in Amasya, and the city had a great many Halvetî tekkes. That İbrâhim Efendi served as sheikh in the tekke for seventeen years is information given by Hüsameddin.
Uncle and Nephew
This İbrâhim Efendi is the nephew of the İbrâhim Efendi mentioned in 6-135: the other is the son of Hasan Çelebi, and this one the son of his brother Mahmûd Çelebi. Both are among the Havzavî seyyids and bear the same name "Haydarzâde".
The Sinânî Sheikh
Hasan Sinânî Efendi of Çorum, who the entry writes became sheikh in 1178, as his name indicates, belonged to the Sinâniyye branch. In a study of the Halvetî tekkes, it is written that a Hasan Efendi attached to the Sinâniyye became postnişin (head) of the Çevikçe Tekke in Amasya in 1766 (1180) and revived the order's activities in the tekke. Whether this Hasan Efendi is the same person as the sheikh of the Çilehane mentioned by Hüsameddin is not certain; the date Hüsameddin gives is 1178.
