In Modern English
He was from Merzifon, the son of el-Hâc Yûsuf Ağa, voyvoda of Merzifon. Because he stood out for years as treasurer (hazinedar) of the defterdar Merzifonî Hasan Pasha, he became known as "Hazînedâr". In 1095 [1683-84], when his master was executed, he handed over the property his master had left behind just as it was, showing his loyalty and honesty.
For this reason he was rewarded and became a sanjak governor. After Merzifonî el-Hâc Ali Pasha became grand vizier in 1103 [1691-92], he became beylerbeyi of Kars, in 1104 [1692-93] mutasarrıf of Canik "as arpalık", in 1105 [1693-94] of Kastamonu, in 1107 [1695-96] beylerbeyi of Özi, and in 1108 [1696-97] governor of Silistre with the rank of vizier.
After being removed from office, he became governor of Salonica in Cemâziyelâhir 1112 [December 1700], commander of Yanova in 1113 [1701-02], and governor of Rumelia in 1114 [1702-03]; in 1115 [1703-04] he became governor of Bosnia, in 1117 [1705-06] of Eğriboz, in Şevval of Candia, in 1118 [1706-07] for the second time of Eğriboz, and in 1119 [1707-08] governor of Belgrade. He died there in early 1120 [1708]. He was a capable, upright vizier. That he was from Merzifon was seen in the Mâliye Defterleri.

The End of Merzifonî Hasan Pasha
The person Hüsameddin calls "the defterdar Merzifonî Hasan Pasha" appears in the sources as Hasan Pasha, an associate of Kara Mustafa Pasha and head of the treasury. It is told that after Kara Mustafa Pasha was executed in Belgrade following the defeat at Vienna, Hasan Pasha was executed by the sultan's order because of slanders by his enemy, the cebecibaşı Fazıl Ağa. İbrâhim Pasha's handing over his master's treasury without deficiency was regarded as a certificate of loyalty on his behalf in these troubled days. Hüsameddin writes that this conduct brought him a sanjak governorship.
Ali Pasha and the Men of Merzifon
"Merzifonî el-Hâc Ali Pasha", who secured İbrâhim Pasha's rise, appears to be identical with the grand vizier who in the sources is also called Merzifonlu Çalık Ali Pasha; this grand vizier was from Merzifon, was one of Kara Mustafa Pasha's men, and served as grand vizier from March 1692 to March 1693. Hüsameddin gives 1103 [1691-92]; since this year includes the spring of 1692, the account fits this grand vizier's dates. İbrâhim Pasha's wide list of posts consists of provincial governorships stretching from Kars to Belgrade. No detailed record apart from Hüsameddin was found about his father Yûsuf Ağa or about himself.
