The Madrasas Where He Taught

The Fîrûz Ağa Madrasa is in Havza. The Kâsım Bey Madrasa in Hakala was built in 1464 by Kâsım Bey, a member of Prince Bayezid's retinue, and gave instruction until 1827. The Halfet Gâzi (Hilfet Gazi) Madrasa is an old madrasa whose waqf deed is dated 622 (1225); it is linked with the Danishmendid emir Hilfet Gazi becoming governor of Amasya in 1222. Beside it stands a two-storey tomb with a square base, an octagonal body and a pyramidal cap.

Although he was from Havza, he pursued his studies in Amasya. No information was found in other sources about Kara Hâfız İbrâhim Efendi or his father Hacı Mehmed bin Ebûbekir.
