The Torumtay and Kaya Pasha Waqfs

Seyfeddin Torumtay was one of the slaves of the Seljuk Sultan Alâeddin Keykubad; he is reported to have governed Amasya from 1243 to 1277. The Torumtay Madrasa that he had built is called Gökmedrese, is dated 1267 and has survived to the present; the tomb opposite was built in 1278. The revenues of the madrasa were administered by Mehmed Çelebi, son of Kaya Pasha, one of Torumtay's grandchildren. The Dursunzâdes' being administrators of these waqfs agrees with the attribution "of the progeny of Torumtay" that Hüsameddin gives.

The Boyacızâdes and the Executions of 1100

Bayburtluoğlu Yeğen Osmân Pasha was the son of Veli Agha, the grandson of Bayburtlu Ahmed Agha, and the nephew of the former grand vizier Kara İbrâhim Pasha. In 1099, at the age of seventeen, he became beylerbey of Canik; in Receb 1100 he was captured at Bağlıca and executed together with his companions. The same study writes that his uncle Boyacızâde Hasan Bey son of İbrâhim Bey and Hasan Bey son of Veli Pasha son of İbrâhim Bey were also executed in the same period.

Unlike Hüsameddin, in this source Yeğen Osmân Pasha appears as the son of Veli, son of İbrâhim Bey, that is, as a grandson through the male line; Hüsameddin, however, writes him as "kerîmezâde," that is, a grandson through a daughter. Moreover, Hasan Bey is not among the sons Hüsameddin lists. No information about Mehmed Bey son of Hasan Bey son of Dursun Bey himself was found in another source.
